Across Dutchess County, resort development is not only about hospitality, it’s about economic resilience. Strategic investments in Dutchess County’s destination resorts—exceeding $300 million across just two recent developments—are strengthening the local workforce, catalyzing small business growth, and reinforcing Dutchess County’s reputation as a powerhouse in regional development.
Below are four projects that are contributing to a new era of economic prosperity.
One&Only Hudson Valley, Hyde Park
The $250+ million investment by Dubai-based One&Only Resorts was announced in April 2025. This is their first location in the United States and will be located on the campus of the Culinary Institute of America (CIA). This project represents a major cross-sector investment, establishing close to 480 construction jobs and 170 long-term positions within the industries of culinary, wellness and hospitality. The resort will serve as both an economic anchor and workforce training hub, including a Longevity Hub by Clinique La Prairie and partnerships with CIA chefs. This project reinforces Hyde Park’s role as a leader in the convergence of culinary innovation, wellness, and nature, set against Dutchess County’s picturesque landscape. One&Only Hudson Valley plans to open its doors in 2028.
Harlem Valley Homestead, Wingdale
Investing $49 million in its 250-acre working farm focused on sustainability and farm life, Harlem Valley Homestead is creating an integrated resort that will transform the land into a premier agritourism destination. Guests will have the opportunity to participate in regenerative farming practices and hands-on workshops while enjoying farm-to-table meals. With 74 construction jobs and 71 permanent positions on the horizon, the project integrates eco-lodging, event spaces, and on-site food production—all supporting local supply chains and training opportunities in sustainable land management and agribusiness.
Mirbeau Inn & Spa, Rhinebeck and Beacon
The Mirbeau brand is a longstanding contributor to local economic growth across New York State. In Dutchess County, Mirbeau Inn & Spa in Rhinebeck supports dozens of jobs and stimulates steady year-round business for wellness professionals, restaurants, and local retailers. Its continued investment in the region underscores the viability of boutique resorts as consistent economic contributors, even outside peak travel seasons.
Mirbeau is continuing to expand its imprint on Dutchess County with an adaptive reuse project in Beacon. Located at the former Howland Estate, the celebrated hospitality and wellness brand will bring a reimagined vision to the historied sanctuary for physical and mental wellness. Mirbeau Inn & Spa Beacon will restore much of the mansion and feature 72 guest rooms, a spa and fitness center. There will also be an onsite bistro and wine bar, as well as a tranquil setting of Monet-inspired gardens, waterfalls and ponds. Mirbeau Inn & Spa Beacon is set to open in Spring 2026.
Bellefield at Historic Hyde Park, Hyde Park
Bellefield, set across 340 scenic acres, is fueling economic growth with two new hotels, restaurants, retail shops, and integrated residential agrihood to come. Bellefield serves as a catalyst for job creation, workforce training, and community revitalization. The project plans include up to 550 construction jobs and nearly 370 permanent positions within the hospitality industry. Its emphasis on walkability, farm-to-table experiences, and sustainable design reflects a long-term economic vision grounded in community and commerce.
Dutchess County’s resort sector is more than a travel destination, it’s a thriving driver of job creation, training, and economic diversification. As some of these projects come to life and others continue to thrive, they are helping ensure that prosperity in the region is sustainable.
