The northeastern United States may suffer from frigid temperatures and an abundance of snow during the dead of winter, but in the preceding months, the striking red and yellow hues of the fall foliage (almost) make it worth putting up with. While there’s no shortage of idyllic destinations to explore across the region, the abundance of pastoral towns and pristine preserves across New York’s Dutchess County make it a top contender for visiting leaf peepers.
